How to uninstall Mono of Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat

With the advent of Synapse, many of us can happily dispense with Mono on our team, because the only thing that was tied to Gnome-Do, which is an excellent and useful piece of software but has the great sin of being developed under the Mono framework.

Since we will not use more Gnome-Do, and Tomboy will probably not use since there are other alternatives as good as Gnote for example. Let's get rid once and for all Mono in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.

For this, we need only execute the next line in the terminal:
  • sudo aptitude purge libgdiplus cli-common libmono*
We now have Ubuntu free from evil influence by Microsoft and not have to deal more with these heavy and poor libraries based on .Net .

Note
: If using Banshee or Docky, you can not uninstall Mono, as Banshee and Docky are also developed under this framework.
